Do you think professional athletes are overpaid or deserve their salaries?  Why?

    No i dont think that professional athletes are overpaid and they do deserve their salaries. because most athletes bodies are torn up after they retire and need the money because they cant do anything else.

    I think they are overpaid. Almost anyone can play a sport. Doctors should get paid more than a professional athlete. They are actually doing something like saving people's lives.

    I think they are paid just right for their salary, seeing as they put their necks on the line everyday playing the sport. Especially for the more dangerous sports, plus they could get injured which would be bad. Also the fact that they spend pretty much most of their time playing. I say the salary is just right.

    I think that they should get paid quite a bit for what they do but not that much i mean like a 2 million sighning bonus thats rediculous. No wonder our economy is going down the drain we are wasting all of our monry paying them.

    Proffessional athletes deserve their salaries for many reasons. They are going out every day and working as hard as they can and hardly ever get breaks. There job is a lot harder than the average job. And it is there job so they should get paid and like everything else if your good you will get paid more than others.

    I think professional athletes deserve their salaries. They have worked hard to get where they are. Also, if people don't think they deserve what they get paid why would they keep watching them?

    Professional athletes are over paid. There is no reason they should be paid millions of dollars to play a game. The money they make should go to more deserving occupations, such as police officers, firefighters, and people in the military. The people that risk their lives day in and day out are more deserving of the money that athletes make. Athletes sit there and want to go on strike or not join a team because they think they are better at a game than millions of dollars. It is pathetic. There are more deserving people out there.

    I think that athletes are extremely over paid. People that save lives everyday are the people that deserve money like that. Not people that play sports for a living.

    I think they are overpaid because they do a sport yes they are good at it but we spend to much money on them. There are people on the bench that are making more money that people that work hard to earn there money. So yes they are overpaid.

    I do not think that athletes are overpaid. I think they deserve their salaries, because they worked hard to get where they are just like anybody else with their jobs. Also I do not think they are overpaid, because they had sacerficed alot for what they do and they deserve to get paid for that.

    i think there over paid. i mean look at patton manning he gets 90 million for nine years with the colts. i mean wow thats a lot of money. there some players who even sit on the bench and they still get like a couple million dollars

    I think that the majority of athletes are over paid. Millions and millions of dollars is more than enough for athletes to make. There is no reason why athletes make more money than say the president or other high profile people. I think athletes deserve a salary, but not near as high as it currently is.

    i definately think professional athletes are overpaid. teachers are more important and are changing kids lives everyday and they don't get a fraction of the pay compared to professional athletes. i don't think this is fair at all!!!

    Professional athelets do deserve a salary but most of them are over paid. There is no reason to pay them millions of dollars just for playing a game. That is their job so they do need a salay but it is rediculous how much they get paid.

    I don't think they deserve as much as they make. Its just a sport. I think people that work in jobs that a nessecity deserve money like pro athletes if not more than them. Some examples would be like doctors. People need doctors if it wasnt for them some of us wouldnt be alive. I just think pro athletes are overpaid.

    Yes i do think that athletes are overpaid. I mean yes they have talent but not enough talent that they should be makeing millions of dollars a year. that money should be used for better things like world hunger or finding a cure for diseases.

    I sometimes do believe that some athlete do get overpaid for their salary. I say that because some athele may not play and their getting millions of dollars for sitting out.Also there are some athletes that do deserve there salry because there really worth that much money. they work hard and make sure they doing things correctly.

    They do get over paid. Why should they get paid millions of dollars a year. They can live off just like 50,000 dollars a year and still be living the high life. Sure there are risk for injury but the military has the risk of death and they dont even get paid that much. So yes they are getting over paid. I mean here the United States is in an economic crisis and there still getting paid that much.

    Professional atheletics takes skill determination and years of extremely hard work, those who do their jobs; and do them extremely well deserve to be paid alot more.Though it may be a ton of money, I believe that if they focus their entire life on that one sport, they deserve some dough for their dedication.

    I feel that professional atheltes are getting overpaid. they just entertain us and get paid soo much. when out teachers, who help us learn, are getting paid very little. there are so many more people who deserve the money much more than they do.

    OFCOURSE!! they're gladiators man. paid to put their physical and mental well being on the line for the sake of entertainment. if anything they should be paid more... except golfers... they suck.

    I think all earn what they are paid. That is their job, just like other people. They earn what they are paid just by how much work they have to do.

    i think they are extremely over payed. In our society we have hard working struggling underpayed workers who do jobs we would never imagine and getting payed not even half of what famous people get payed for just existing.

    I think they are paid just right. They are good at what they do. Thats kind of like sayin does someone think you getting overpaid for doing your kind of skilled job. Their job is easy to them just like yours should/would be.

    They absolutely deserve it. The athletes today are so very rare with the combination of size and abilites they have. They put their well being on the line to entertain people.

    They are overpaid. They recieve millions of dollars just to pay sports that I am required to play e P.E. Why don't we students receive all of that money when we play?

    professional sports bring in so much revenue that each athelete should be paid what they do. If lets just saythe manager just kept the money they would be multi billionairs. Atheletes are pro for a reason and deserve what they get.

    I believe that athletes are infact overpaid. they got salaries of thousands of dollars to run around and play a sport. they're getting paid because of a talent and I believe that to be unfair i think teachers should be the ones getting paid the big bucks instead of there measley little salaries. its unfair and someone needs to change it.

    I think some professional athletes can be overpaid. Except for some athletes..like the ones who are steriods, those athletes needs to go away!I think most professional athletes deserve their salaries! Especially those DALLAS COWBOYS!

    I think pro athletes are overpaid. There is no need to have people make 10 million dollars a year when we have people starving on the streets. Athletes should have a cap at 1 million dollars per year.

    I think they are over paid. I could go out in my back yard and play football or basketball for free. Actual jobs such as teachers should be paid more because they are teaching you everything you will need to know in life. Such as how to read and mathmatics.

    I think professional athlets deserve their salaries.Why? Because most of them work hard for it, and obviously they want to be there or they wouldn't be a professional athlete.I mean why would you slack off and not do so good and get paid good.I would want to work hard for my money.

    They do work hard for the sport, but they do get paid an awful lot. I guess it just depends on how good they are and what sport they are playing. They should get paid good, but maybe not as good as they do now.

    I believe that they earn their salaries. If the team that their on won't pay the athlete a high salary, there will be a different one that will. Athletes get paid alot because they are some of the best at what they do.

    I do not believe that they are overpaid. The amount of physical abuse they take is unreal. And most of them don't have a career after sports.

    no i dont really think that they are. They had to work hard to get to that point. None of them just became pro over night. Its like doctors, they put their time and effort in to make that much money.

    I think that they work hard to achieve what they do. But i also think that they are born with those abilities. There is no reason they should get paid more then say a Police Officer or a Soldier that risks there lives for just playing a sport.

    They are probably overpaid. They can play a sport. Big deal, so can people in highschool. We don't get paid. If I was a professional athlete I'd be fine with it, haha, but I'm not. They should use the money for something important at least.
